Gain insight into epidemiology

Monitoring the molecular epidemiology of antibiotic resistance on a local or regional level can aid healthcare facilities, reference centers and research organizations in uncovering trends and emerging resistance threats. This requires an extended search for specific resistance genes that goes beyond the most prevalent types of Carbapenemases, AmpC and ESBL.

Check-MDR CT103 XL

The most comprehensive assay for molecular beta-lactamase identification in one microarray, including the MCR genes.

(ref 18-0023)

Includes carbapenemase, ESBL and AmpC  targets, including colistin resistance (MCR), emerging types and those typically found in non-fermenters.

Stay up-to-date, stay in control.

  • Extended with MCR genes, carbapenemases typically identified in Acinetobacter baumannii such as OXA-23, OXA-24/40and OXA-58 as well as carbapenemases and ESBLs found in Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
  • Includes emerging carbapenemases (GIM, GES, SPM) and ESBLs (VEB, PER, BEL, GES).
  • Discriminates directly between carbapenemase and ESBL variants of GES.

The Check-MDR CT103 accurately typed 106/109 (97%) isolates.… Notably, 42 isolates were found to contain resistance genes not originally known to be present, each of which was confirmed by subsequent conventional PCR.

3. Identification
by multiplex ligation
3 h 15 min
4. Amplification
of ligated probes by PCR
1.5 h 15 min
5. Detection
through hybridization of amplified probes to specific locations on the microarray, contained in a Check-Points Array Tube
